5G Is Coming
With technology revolutionizing every aspect of our world today, the smartphone industry isn’t ready to take the back burner. Active efforts are made each year to unveil what we call the ‘holy grail’ for the year. And 2019 is no different as plans are underway to make 2019 the year of ‘smaterphones.’

With big players such as Samsung, Huawei, Sony, Apple, and the likes, we are definitely in for a treat.
Another major breakthrough expected in 2019 is the advent of 5G-ready smartphones. In fact, Christiano Amon, Qualcomm’s president, asserted that 5G smartphones will take over the industry before the end of 2019. What a time to be alive! This means that we get to enjoy uninterrupted internet surfing, enhanced augmented reality, improved virtual reality, holographic displays, and lots more. Absolutely amazing!

Without further ado, I would love to introduce you to the most-anticipated smartphones in 2019.

1. Samsung Galaxy S10
As expected, the South Korean maker is not taking a break. We were privileged to have a sneak peek during the last Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit in 2018.

The new Samsung Galaxy S10 is touted as the first 5G-ready smartphone of 2019 since it will be launched as early as February 2019. The smartphone is equipped with lots of amazing features that would heat up the competition with Apple iPhones. Galaxy S10 is, indeed, a step up from Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S9 that had us hypnotized in 2018.

The rumored Galaxy S10 is proposed to come with a RAM of 8GB or 12GB and fast storage from 128GB to 1TB. A sneak peek into its features showed that it would be designed with a triple-lens (12MP, 13MP, and 16MP) camera and a 3D sensor for augmented reality. We are also expecting an in-screen fingerprint scanner and a bezel-free all-screen display. The 6.1-Inch Galaxy S10 is expected to run on Android 9 Pie with a resolution of 1440 x 3040. Much hasn’t been said about it being foldable or not, but we expect a foldable smartphone from Samsung in 2019.
2. iPhone XI
It is a bit sad that the new iPhone isn’t a 5G-ready smartphone, but we are sure it will be one of the ‘holy grail’ in the smartphone industry this year.

I guess Apple is just keeping up with its trend of waiting for new technologies to settle down before embracing it. So, we will have to wait until 2020 to see a 5G-ready iPhone. Well, that shouldn’t spoil fun because the new iPhone is rumored to be a noticeable upgrade from the last.

The 5.8-inch smartphone is proposed to run on Apple A11 processor with a 3GB RAM and storage up to 64GB. iPhone XI, as we know it to be at the moment, will be equipped with a non-removable Li-ion battery for better battery life and dual lens primary camera for quality photos. The phablet would be waterproof and designed with super retina HD Display on a screen resolution of 1125 x 2436 pixels. Although we are yet to get a fixed release date, we are positive this new buddy will be hitting the market anytime soon.

3. SONY Xperia XZ4
The new member in Sony’s flagship is expected to launch as early as February 2019.

The 6.5- inch Xperia XZ4 is rumored to come with a triple camera system to cater to all your photo needs. The 2880 x 1440 pixels screen resolution is complemented with a bezel-less screen for an enhanced viewing experience.

The powerful hardware will run on octa-core processor with a processor speed of 2.8GHz and 6GB RAM. Like Samsung Galaxy S10, the OS version of XZ4 will run on Android 9.0 Pie. With a 4000mAh Li-ion battery, you are sure to spend all day with your new buddy.
What To Pick
The reality is that it's way too early to tell.

While I'm very excited about the whole 5G revolution, you and I know that the introduction of changes like this always comes with issues. I look forward to try these new devices and judge their performance for myself. You know I'm a devout Apple customer, but who knows, this might be the year that I cheat on my long-standing partner and try something new 😎.
